Terms of Use

Effective date: 12 October 2026 · Vaktija Widgets app & website

The short version: Vaktija Widgets shows prayer times and a Qibla direction as an aid. The times follow the published Bosnian Takvim, but we cannot guarantee that every time, place or direction is correct at every moment. For anything that matters to your worship, your local mosque (džemat) and the Islamic Community are the authority, not this app.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Vaktija Widgets ("the app") and vaktijanamaz.com ("the website") are published by Amaze Security BV, a company registered in the Netherlands ("we", "us"). These terms apply to your use of the app on any device and of the website. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms add to it to the extent Apple's agreement allows. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. An independent app

Vaktija Widgets is an independent app. It is not made, endorsed, sponsored or approved by the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Islamska zajednica u Bosni i Hercegovini), its Rijaset, any mufti office, mosque or other religious body, or by vaktija.ba or vaktija.eu. Names of places and institutions are used only to describe where the times apply and where they come from.

3. Prayer times are an aid, not a religious ruling

The prayer times in the app follow the published Bosnian Takvim, applied to each municipality with its monthly corrections, and adjusted for summer time. For years or places for which no new Takvim has been published, the app applies the same rules to calculate the times. We take care to reproduce the times correctly and check them against the published Takvim, but:

You use the times at your own discretion. We are not responsible for a prayer, fast, iftar, suhoor or any other religious act performed too early, too late or not at all because of what the app showed.

4. Qibla direction and compass

The Qibla screen calculates the direction of the Kaaba from your device's location and uses your device's compass. Its accuracy depends on your device's sensors, GPS accuracy, nearby metal, magnets and electronics, and calibration. The app shows how accurate your location is, but it cannot guarantee the direction. Where precision matters, use the direction of a mosque or another reliable reference.

5. Widgets and the "prayed" mark

The "prayed" mark in the vakat bar widget is a personal reminder. It is stored only on your device, is never sent to us and is cleared when the next prayer time begins. Widgets are drawn by your device's operating system, which decides when they refresh; a widget can occasionally show a time or state that is not current.

6. Your use of the app

You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the app, extract its data in bulk to offer it elsewhere, or use the app or the website in a way that breaks the law or harms others. The app, its design, icons, texts and code are owned by Amaze Security BV or its licensors. Prayer times as such are facts and we claim no ownership of them.

7. Vaktija Widgets Plus

Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks extra widget features, such as every widget style, a style per widget and the vakat bar settings. It is sold through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, including their rules on payment and refunds. The price is shown in the app before you buy. The subscription runs for one year and renews automatically for another year at the price then shown, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your App Store or Google Play account settings. When the subscription ends, the extra widget features lock again and the widgets go back to the free style; everything you could use for free keeps working. Purchases are restored through your store account with "Restore purchase". The prayer times themselves, all places, the Qibla and the notifications are free and remain free.

Amaze Security BV donates 50% of the revenue of this app to charity and to mosques and masjids in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is a commitment of our company; it does not make your purchase a donation and gives no tax benefit or other right.

8. Updates and availability

We may update the app, its timetable and these terms, and we may change or stop features. The app checks our website for new timetables; nothing about you is sent with that check. We do not guarantee that the app, the website or the timetable updates will always be available or free of errors.

9. The app is provided "as is"

We provide the app and the website "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy of the prayer times or Qibla direction, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation or freedom from errors.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage or loss arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app or the website, including damage resulting from incorrect, outdated or misread prayer times, countdowns, widgets or Qibla directions, and any indirect or consequential damage. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us through the app in the twelve months before the event that caused the damage. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

11. Privacy

How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: the app collects no personal data.

12. Changes and termination

The date above shows the current version of these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
